Setting Up TOTP Two-Factor Authentication in Linken Sphere

Logging into your account should be fast. But waiting for an email code often takes too long, and with a weak internet connection, authorization turns into a real problem.

This is TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) — a new two-factor authentication method in Linken Sphere. Verification codes are generated right on your device. Without delays or a network connection.

How authorization via Authenticator app works

Setup takes just a few clicks:

  1. Open license management (the LS logo in the top left corner) and select the 2FA section.
  2. In the left menu, select 2FA.
  3. Select the Authenticator app method and scan the QR code or use the Secret Key.
  4. Enter the one-time code from the app to confirm.

Now, to get the code, all you need to do is open the authenticator app.

Details and compatibility

TOTP is completely independent of the internet. You are no longer tied to email servers and connection quality.

Use any familiar authenticator app: Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, KeepassXC, or their equivalents.

For access from multiple devices, scan the same QR code on each of them during the initial setup.

Only one two-factor authentication method can be active at a time — either an email code or TOTP. To change the authorization method, disable 2FA and set it up again.

The feature works immediately after updating for all users on macOS and Windows.

Conclusion

TOTP gives you back control over the login process. No more waiting for emails. Instant authorization wherever and whenever it's convenient for you.
